Malik Freeman

Malik Freeman works in the firm’s litigation and family law group. He has been practicing law for over 30 years. He is originally from Boston Massachusetts. He is a veteran of both the United States Army and Air Force where he was a contracting officer working on space programs. He graduated from the University of Washington with a bachelor’s degree in psychology and went on to law school where he studied for a joint degree in Law and the master’s degree in public administration, foreign Affairs. He did all of this while being on active duty as a Warranted Contracting Officer (working on Space and Missile programs).

After finishing his military career and passing the bar he became a family law attorney working directly under one of Los Angeles’s most prominent Certified Family Law Specialists.

After being appointed to the Los practice Angeles Superior Court’s Family Law Indigent Panel, he accepted an appointment to the Los Angeles District Attorney’s Office Family Support division. He served as a city manager as well as the city clerk in inland Empire city, after having done an internship in Municipal Law with a major Riverside law firm.

After reestablishing his own family law career, he began to include immigration and naturalization as part of his practice during the Amnesty. He also completed trials in Personal injury and Probate matters. He also has completed the Los Angeles County Bar’s Trial Advocacy Program as well as an internship with the Orange County District Attorney’s Office, to learn criminal trial advocacy.

He has an eclectic background which helps him succeed in some of the more complex cases involving emotional and personality issues.
