Wade Law Group claimed victory in the courtroom
(San Jose, CA) April 27, 2015 – The prominent law firm of Wade Law Group claimed victory yesterday week when trial court judge Charles F. Haines entered a judgment on behalf of the firm’s client, after a disputed trial. The firm’s latest trial involved an action in which the firm was representing a client who wish to remain anonymous, a female who had brought a lawsuit against her former boyfriend, Ryan Zackaberry asserting that he had made false promises to her in order to get her to consent to him making charges on her credit card.
The firm’s client asserted that she had allowed Ryan to make about $25000 in charges on her credit card to cover expenses while the two were dating as well as some of Thackaberry’s own private expenses. Thackaberry contended that all he owed was the sum of $15000 which was half of the amount that had been charged on Tompkin’s cards.
When the trial began, Amiel Wade argued that not only did Thackaberry owe the entire amount charged, but he also owed the firm’s client emotional distress damages, as well as punitive damages so that he would be deterred from engaging in similar conduct in the future. Wade also argued that Thackaberry was responsible for repaying Tompkins for all of her costs.
After the conclusion of the bench trial, judge Haines, sided with Wade and issued a judgement in the amount of $68,000 in general damages and $272,000 in punitive damages for a total award on behalf of the firm’s client in the amount of $340,000.
“This lawsuit definitely turned out the way it was supposed to turn out,” said Wade. “We obtained justice today. Mr. Thackaberry should be ashamed of the way he behaved. I am so happy for my client.”
