Amiel Wade Once Again Selected as Top California Attorney

(San Jose, CA) July 29, 2015 – Amiel Wade received yet another award this week in recognition of his work as a leading California attorney.  The latest award was announced earlier in the week when Wade was informed by American Lawyer Media that he was once again selected to their list of California’s top attorneys.

AmericanLawyer.com is the daily destination for people looking to stay on top of the legal industry and is thought by many to be the leading daily news source covering legal business, law firms, and lawyers across the U.S. and around the world.

In an effort to assist people in need of legal representation in their selection of qualified attorneys, the American Lawyer magazine has teamed up with Martindale-Hubbell, the company that has long set the standard for lawyer ratings.  Together the American Lawyer Magazine and Martindale-Hubbell generate a list of Top Rated Lawyers. The list is updated from time to time.  The rating is based on Peer Review Ratings and the lawyer’s professional skill.

When asked what he thought of being re-selected as one of California’s top rated attorneys, Wade stated: “I am very humbled by having received the award.”

Wade Law Group Wins Trial on behalf of Client April 27, 2015

(San Jose, CA) April 27, 2015 – The prominent law firm of Wade Law Group claimed victory yesterday week when trial court Judge Charles F. Haines entered a judgment on behalf of the firm’s client, after a disputed trial.  The firm’s latest trial involved an action in which the firm was representing a client who wishes to remain anonymous; a female who had brought a lawsuit against her former boyfriend, Ryan Thackaberry asserting that he had made false promises to her in order to get her to consent to him making charges on her credit card.

The firm’s client asserted that she had allowed Ryan to make about $25,000 in charges on her credit card to cover expenses while the two were dating, as well as some of Thackaberry’s own private expenses.  Thackaberry contended that all he owed was the sum of $15,000, which was half of the amount that had been charged on the plaintiff’s cards.

When the trial began, Amiel Wade argued that not only did Thackaberry owe the entire amount charged, but he also owed the plaintiff emotional distress damages, as well as punitive damages so that he would be deterred from engaging in similar conduct in the future.  Wade also argued that Thackaberry was responsible for repaying the plaintiff for all of her costs.

After the conclusion of the bench trial, Judge Haines sided with Wade and issued a judgement in the amount of $68,000 in general damages and $272,000 in punitive damages for a total award on behalf of the firm’s client in the amount of $340,000.

“This lawsuit definitely turned out the way it was supposed to turn out,” said Wade. “We obtained justice today.  Mr. Thackaberry should be ashamed of the way he behaved.  I am so happy for my client.”
